• Bowl for Kids’ Sake – February/March Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a series of bowling parties held at a local bowling center for volunteer bowling teams who have raised funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa. Each Bowl for Kids’ Sake team is comprised of four to six individuals who raise a minimum of $100 each. Each team chooses from a variety of afternoon or evening times to enjoy a celebration event where participants receive complimentary bowling shoe rental and two games of bowling. Each two-hour Bowl for Kids’ Sake event is hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa. Many individuals participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake each year and numerous local businesses support Bowl for Kids’ Sake, using the event as a team building activity. • Hy-Vee Kids Fishing Derby - May 15, 2010 - The Hy-Vee Kids Fishing Derby is an event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa. Each year, children and families gather at Waterworks Park the third Saturday in May to enjoy a day of free fishing, fun and prizes. Hy-Vee is the headline sponsor for this event, which attracts more than 30,000 people each year and creates scores of local publicity opportunities. • Big Shots Golf Event FORE Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa - AugustBig Shots Golf Event FORE Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa features individuals and foursomes competing in a best-shot tournament. Participants receive a complimentary meal and beverages and a chance to win raffle prizes while enjoying a round of golf. All money raised benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa mentoring programs.

• Workplace: Help us arrange a Lunch N’ Learn presentation or arrange an Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa posting on your intranet or message board at your job. • Facebook: Make Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa your friend on Facebook. Become a fan and help recruit your friends to our organization.

Volunteer and Matching Gift Grants: Many companies in the area have volunteer grant and/or matching gift programs, visit www.matchinggifts.com/bbbs/  to find out if your company has one or both of these programs. Check with your HR department to find out more about your eligibility. Some examples of local companies with programs like these are: Nationwide, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wellmark, Gap and more.

• Planned Giving through a planned gift (in your will or estate)
• Individual Giving personal giving at the year-end or online by clicking here.
• Major Giving a large cash donation of $1000 or more to support the organization
